Bunq sells itself as the bank of The Free, yet its free plan charges €2.99 every time you touch your own cash. The cheapest real plan costs €47.88 a year, and even there every single withdrawal has a price.

The Free plan has no monthly fee, but it charges €2.99 per ATM withdrawal and 1.5% on foreign currency card payments above €1,000 per year. The cheapest full plan, Core, costs €3.99 per month.
On Core, the first 5 withdrawals per month cost €0.99 each and €2.99 after that. Pro and Elite include 6 free withdrawals per month, then 5 at €0.99 and €2.99 beyond.
The real Mastercard exchange rate plus a 0.5% currency fluctuation prevention charge. On the Free plan the 0.5% applies up to €1,000 per year, then the fee becomes 1.5%.
