It depends on the account. The Cuenta Online has no maintenance fee. On the Cuenta Elección, BBVA charges up to €40 per quarter (€160 per year) unless you deposit income and meet payment or product conditions.

How do I avoid BBVA fees completely?

Either move to the Cuenta Online, which has no maintenance or card fees, or meet the Cuenta Elección conditions: a regular income deposit plus direct debits, card payments or a contracted BBVA product.

What does BBVA charge for using another bank's ATM?

BBVA passes on 100% of the surcharge set by the ATM's owner, which is typically around €2 in Spain. Withdrawals at BBVA's own ATMs are free.
