Is the N26 Standard account really free?

The account itself costs nothing per month. The costs hide at the edges: €10 for the physical card, €2 per extra ATM withdrawal after the second each month, 1.7% on foreign-currency cash, rejected-direct-debit fees of up to €15 and 3% on card or wallet top-ups after the first top-up.

How many free ATM withdrawals do I get with N26?

On the Standard plan, 2 free euro withdrawals per month. After that, each withdrawal costs €2. Paid plans raise the allowance: 3 with Smart, 5 with Go, 8 with Metal.

Does N26 charge for card payments abroad?

No. Card payments in any currency carry no N26 fee on every plan, using the Mastercard exchange rate. The 1.7% surcharge only hits ATM withdrawals in foreign currency on Standard and Smart.

What happens if an N26 France direct debit is rejected?

For French IBAN accounts, N26's rejected-direct-debit fee equals the failed debit amount when it is under €15 and is capped at €15 when the debit is €15 or more.

Can I deposit cash into my N26 France account?

N26 does not list CASH26 for French accounts; it lists CASH26 only for Germany, Austria and Spain. You can top up by transfer, MoneyBeam or card/wallet, with 3% applying after the first instant card or digital-wallet top-up.
